byThe objective here is to have participants learn something about Linux desktop, server and cloud apps, they want to use. Be able to select from a list of categorized apps on both http://turnkeylinux.org and http://distrowatch.com
1) locally from thumbdrives (i provide), onto a laptop (which is what I did @ scale), boot up and optionally install, locally onto a laptop/desktop which linux distribution
2) Use either virt-manager app or cockpit (browser based) on hardware, in the same room, running Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) and or LXC.
I will bring approx 15 thumbdrives
with the following distros:
8 https://www.turnkeylinux.org/
6 http://distrowatch.org
1 http://live.osgeo.org
i will bring a couple small workstations that can be used as servers. we need one for taking it apart to experience what's inside (in support of the computer technician, teknowledgy pass thru program) and the other computer is a box (with 8+gig memory) to run a kvm virt-manager application that could handle 10 or more installations, all happening and shareable at the same time.
i would like to speak with you network manager to talk about the server, which I hope could be in the workshop room connected via ethernet cables. to the local machines. wifi can maybe work with laptops and router connected to the server.
it would be nice to have a 2 shelf library cart to wheel from downstairs into the room. but it's not critical. just need adequate access to power.
3. Be able able to explain and maybe demo how to install online with an Amazon WebSservices account on Amazon EC2,
