Subject: RE: REMINDER: City Planning Commission hearing this Thursday, June 24th on structural racism + land use

Commissioner Leung,
Thank you for outreach below and in response I spoke during public testimony during 1/21/21 Equity Listening Session and Again June 24th.  During my one minute public testimony I spoke of project we are doing in Watts as part of Watts Rising titled VCAP  Virtual Community Action Planning.  It is to align the public discussion with engagement of the community how projects are implemented in the community.  This VCAP model was developed with UCLA as a certificate in their Architecture Continuing Education platform. See Curriculum   https://www.dropbox.com/s/7hs1v354gp0j5kw/lesson Plan-rev1.pdf?dl=0

This curriculum was delivered for small community like Watts, in Kansas City, with engagement from University of Missouri Kansas City and non profit aSTEAM Village through HUD Envision Center.   https://www.kshb.com/news/local-news/youth-create-designs-to-reimagine-18th-and-vine-area

I have prepared work with Metro for 8 mile Crenshaw Corridor labeled AVATAR Ready model by Phil Washington, Metro CEO,  with Students representing about 96 million sq feet of Simulation.  All done with local community college students.

This is following large simulation project for Los Angeles Community College District  labeled Largest Geospatial Model addressing Sustainability in the World and receiving International Award as Most Innovated Project in Government 2016.  All done with local Community College Students.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qa92dtcwDes&t=758s

I have also been working in Leimert Park with Kaos Studio Ben Caldwell who works directly with Karen Mack and I would like to present the VCAP model as a viable integrated DATA Solution for how Equity can come online in Los Angeles.

I attended 8 or 9 PVP Professional Volunteer Program working sessions for Conditional Use Permits organized through Planning Department and AIA where I spoke about the complexity and integration of Sustainability Goals of Los Angeles and how Simulation technology must be part of neighborhood councils.

Please see email to UCLA on Heat Island Effect and response AIA.  https://www.dropbox.com/s/0wlddbqkpexjq94/UCLA-e7.pdf?dl=0

As a commissioner with Los Angeles Planning Department it is important the Equity conversation is an effort of Community Science and Environmental Science is understood as the backside of the same coin where the face is Social Justice.
